Welcome to the Deshler High School Library Media Center!
Mrs. Newbern, DHS librarian, is available to assist you as you work on class projects, research information, answer questions about various topics, get technical assistance, or help you find something good to read. The library is open Monday-Friday during school hours, 7:45-3:15. I hope to see you soon!
Scheduling
Teachers may schedule the library media center for a collaborative research project by contacting the librarian. Teachers can view the library schedule via the DHS library website. Requests for available library slots will be done via email or direct contact with the librarian.
The DHS library operates on an open access basis. Students are allowed to visit the library at their convenience with the permission of their teacher. Students are allowed to check out books, study, get technical assistance, take part in makerspaces, etc.
Book Checkout
Students may check out up to three items from the library for up to three weeks and may renew items as long as there is not a waitlist. Items must be present in order to be renewed. Overdue items must be returned before any additional checkouts are allowed.
Services Offered
-Computers/Printing. Our library has 18 desktop computers with access to the internet and a black and white printer. Students are allowed to print school related items for free in black and white or send items to the librarian to print in color.
-Laminating. This is done by the librarian on an as needed basis.
-Research and project assistance.

In collaboration with the school's learning community, Tuscumbia City School's library media programs will be the center of teaching and learning by providing access to quality collections, technology, and by extending services beyond the library media centers four walls and school day.
